Welcome, I’m Renee
Feel your voice is not heard? Your experience invisible? Hurt, lonely, disenfranchised or marginalized by everyday living? It is your house that is burning down not your neighbour’s. Let me help you put out the fire—”I’ve ‘bin’ there.”
I’m a willing advocate as you find your voice amidst the complexities of our world. I’m not afraid to lean into the hard conversations, hold you accountable and support you with tools to move forward in your life.
I know it takes strength and courage to speak your experience and to keep moving forward. We don’t have to do it alone. We can move through the most challenging terrains when we have support. Need a listening ear? Need validation for the doubts? Maybe the chance to brainstorm problem-solving strategies or even just a referee to see your side of the story? I’m here and can help.
Let’s talk about recent events that might reveal aspects of trauma—COVID19, Quarantine, BLM, job loss, death toll, economic shut down, riots, masks ???? All are valid issues!
I just recently learned that the worst thing to ever say in our life’s struggles is nothing.
As a seasoned teacher for over twenty-five years, I have a wealth of experience working with young people of every age group (zero to 30) assisting the younger population to understand and realize their passions, talents, and abilities. This is doable for you too.
Transitioning into counseling for the last ten years I’ve helped young people, experiencing hopelessness, dis-empowered, learning and academic failures, classroom or learning disruptions, relationship issues, bullying, peer pressure, body shaming, parental alienation due to divorce or parental separation, boyfriend or girlfriend break ups, mother or father absences to rise from the dust.
I’ve helped parents to become better parents through couples counseling. I have supported couples in re-establishing strong foundational family relationships and even issues that surrounds their deeper marital needs by offering Sex Therapy and The Understanding of Human Sexuality.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with members of the LGBTQ community who sometimes encounter many of the above-mentioned issues but suffer more intensely from the additional burden of needing acceptance within the lager societal framework.
Lastly, I’ve the added passion in providing support to people of all varied cultural, ethnicity and nationality and have a genuine understanding of many specific issues endemic to Aboriginal people, Hispanic people, and Black or Caribbean people—issues they may encounter due to their biological and social constructs. I’m here when you are ready. Let’s talk.
“If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes.”– Andrew Carnegie

Outside of my time of providing therapeutic support I enjoy teaching courses (especially now online), reading, writing blogs, and recently babysitting my granddaughter.
One more thing….
“Never give up. It’s like breathing—once you quit, your flame dies letting total darkness extinguish every last gasp of hope. You can’t do that. You must continue taking in even the shallowest of breaths, continue putting forth even the smallest of efforts to sustain your dreams. Don’t ever, ever, ever give up.”
